Personal photography training - Devon Photography

Private photography tuition

To quote the great David duChemin.. “Gear is good, Vision is better”, The quality of cameras and lenses these days mean that great imagery is possible without resorting to professional equipment. As good as the equipment is, it is just a tool.. It is the photographer that must create the image, using a blend of technical skill and a creative eye to capture that perfect slice of time.

Whether you want to get to know your camera a little better or want to improve your composition skills.. a little time on location with an experienced photographer will be an enjoyable way to grow your photography to new levels. Learning photography for pure pleasure or with a view to earn money, investing in improving your photographic skills is one of the most rewarding ways to get better images. The single best advice I can offer a beginner to photography is to invest in education before you invest in more gear.

Tuition is available for 1/2 day or full day and can be timed to include sunrise/sunset if desired. The cost for tuition is £150 (1/2 day) & £250 (full day).. cheaper than buying equipment and sure to improve your photography.

Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop Training

Devon Post Production Training Tuition

learn to edit your photography

Have you ever taken an amazing photograph, only to find that when you get it back to your computer it looks nothing like you had hoped? Obviously, nothing beats getting the image as good as possible in the camera (see the one on one photography sessions above), but even if you took a good image that is only half of the story. The next stage is post production, to edit your image to bring out the best it has to offer. With that in mind, I am offering private one to one tuition that will show you how easy it can be to get the images you dreamed of.

I have been using Adobe Photoshop since version 7, all the way up to the latest and current version CC. I have also used every version of Adobe Lightroom since the very first public beta to the latest LR Creative Cloud. Personally I find that about 90% of my images are edited exclusively in Adobe Lightroom, with only a few that need the more poweful features within Photoshop. If you are unfamiliar with photography post production or more experienced and looking for tips and tricks, my personal tuition is sure to help.

My private one to one post production tuition sessions last between 2-3 hours and are charged at £150. One of the advantages of private tuition is that all learning is at your pace, whether it be slow and steady or jam packed with information to explore later. As with all my training, I am available to answer your questions long after the tuition.
